LABOR CANDIDATE FOR PERTH
A Shorten Labor Government will invest funding to help the Bayswater Sea Scouts build a new boat shed at their Riverside Gardens premises.
“After visiting the Bayswater Sea Scouts and seeing their hall so jammed full of equipment it was almost unusable, it became clear to me how important a new boat shed will be to the organisation and our community,” Labor candidate for Perth Tim Hammond said.
“I am proud to have secured this $25,000 commitment under a Shorten Labor Government to help the Bayswater Sea Scouts build a new shed, which will allow the group to shift equipment out of the hall and open up fantastic opportunities for community events and space activation.
“Groups like the Bayswater Sea Scouts are the lifeblood of our community. They provide a range of local programs such as working to revegetate the area, feeding the homeless and assisting local seniors’ groups.
“This commitment from Labor will help the Bayswater Sea Scouts grow into the future and open up their premises on Riverside Gardens for the entire community."
